On my walks on the Forest lately, the most noticeable bird is definitely the Stonechat. They perch on gorse bushes and pines, announcing their presence with an alarm call that sounds just like two pebbles being knocked together on the beach. Listen out if you are lucky enough to walk on the Forest. This morning I was surrounded by a whole family: just like walking on a beach!
