I am amazed that three separate nests of ants all flew within minutes of each other. Both male and female ants fly in order to mate and start new colonies. Quite often many colonies will fly on the same day: did anyone else notice any locally? Certainly a number of news sites mentioned it today, probably because it was warm with less breeze than we have had recently.
