Silver studded blue butterflies

These rare butterflies can be seen in a few specific areas of Ashdown Forest. They are very precise in their habitat requirements, needing short vegetation including bell heather for the adults but also needing an ant colony to look after the larvae. It is not surprising that they are rare, but very exciting to see them. The male is the blue one. Females are brown. You don't need me to tell you not to disturb them if you see any!
