Goldfinches

"The early bird gets the worm" is a well known saying. In our garden, the goldfinches are always up early and this morning I caught them eating my blueberries that I was going to pick for breakfast! They then they moved onto the seed heads in the flowerbed. Finches have strong beaks made for seeds and we leave flowers to go to seed especially for them but they obviously like a change of diet occasionally.
